A Stage As Big As The World

She sat quietly in thought before the glow of the monitor.
She looked at the widgets and set them up to do her bidding.
She turned on the red light and hugged her guitar.
The machine listened to her minstral and remembered every note.
It reveiwed her work and made her proud and anxious.
And an old man on the other side of mother earth waited.
He waited patiently to see what she would do next.

He sat down on his stool before the monster.
Many turbines breathing cooling air whirred about him.
He placed the silver platter in the maw of the beast.
It swallowed it and devoured the contents.
It spit the platter out and he put it up for safe keeping.
He played the song from down under and studied it a while.
Suddenly, he knew what to do as his instruments called out.

She waited for the letter and it finally came.
She took it inside and found the small silver platter.
She fed it to the machine which did her bidding.
The music roared forth, simular but different.
Something old yet totally new came out.
She listened and studied for a while.
She was very satisfied.
